Everything you need to get an app live on HostRob.

Create your first container

  1. Sign up at panel.hostrob.com and pay for a plan (UPI, card or net banking).
  2. Choose New container, pick the stack (WordPress, PHP or Node.js) and a name. The name becomes name.hostrob.com.
  3. The container is live with SSL in under a minute. Open it from the panel.

Deploy a Node.js app

Your app must listen on port 3000 inside the container. Upload it to /home/appuser/app by SFTP or the file manager. If .hostrob/ecosystem.config.js exists the app runs under pm2; otherwise the platform runs npm install and npm start. After uploading, restart the app from the panel, or over SSH run sudo supervisorctl restart nodeapp.

Deploy PHP or WordPress

WordPress containers come ready with PHP, a MySQL database and SSL. For other PHP apps, upload your files with the file manager, SFTP, or the ZIP upload (it extracts in place), then create a database from the Databases tab and use phpMyAdmin to import your SQL.

Connect your own domain

In the panel, add your domain to the container. At your DNS provider, create an A record pointing to the IP address the panel shows. The SSL certificate is issued automatically once DNS resolves, usually within a few minutes. Each container takes one custom domain from the panel; for a second hostname (for example the www version) email support.

SSH and SFTP

Each container has its own SSH and SFTP login on a dedicated port shown in the panel. For security, that port accepts connections only from the IP address registered on your account; update it in the panel if your IP changes. The browser terminal works from anywhere.

Backups and restores

Every container's data is snapshotted nightly, MySQL databases are dumped hourly (kept 24 hours), and an encrypted copy goes to Backblaze B2 (kept 7 days). You can also take manual backups from the panel. To restore, use the panel or email support with the date and time you need.
