HostRob Enterprise: what ₹35,000 a month pays for

Enterprise is managed hosting for business-critical apps in India. You are paying for the servers, a security watch that never sleeps, and an engineer who already knows your setup. Here is the honest breakdown.

Is HostRob Enterprise worth it?

It is worth it if you run a business-critical app in India and do not have your own DevOps engineer. ₹35,000 buys up to six production containers (4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM cap each), an AI security scan of every container every 15 minutes, a monthly security report, nightly and offsite backups, PostgreSQL point-in-time recovery, free migration and priority support from the engineer who runs the platform. Hiring a DevOps engineer in India costs about ₹8.5 lakh a year on average (Glassdoor, 2026), roughly ₹71,000 a month, before servers and tools. If you already have an engineer and only need raw servers, a plain cloud VPS or HostRob's Business plans are cheaper.

Where the money goes

  1. Production hosting

Up to 6 containers, each capped at 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM, 60 GB NVMe, 5 TB bandwidth, in Mumbai.

Doing it yourself: A comparable 4 vCPU / 8 GB cloud server is $48 a month at DigitalOcean, about ₹4,200, per server. Source: DigitalOcean Droplet pricing.

  2. Backups you do not have to think about

Nightly snapshots, hourly database dumps, an encrypted offsite copy in Backblaze B2, and PostgreSQL point-in-time recovery.

Doing it yourself: Daily backups on a cloud server add 30% to its price, and offsite copies and point-in-time recovery are yours to build. Source: DigitalOcean Droplet pricing.

  3. HostRob Sentinel

AI security scan of every container every 15 minutes, AI triage of new findings with Claude, a human review of every alert, and a monthly security report.

Doing it yourself: Security monitoring is usually a separate tool plus someone to read its alerts.

  4. An engineer on your side

Priority support from the engineer who runs the platform: migrations, database recovery, incident response, capacity advice.

Doing it yourself: A DevOps engineer in India earns about ₹8.5 lakh a year on average, roughly ₹71,000 a month. Source: Glassdoor: DevOps Engineer salaries in India.

When Enterprise is the wrong choice

  • You have your own DevOps engineer and only need raw servers. A plain cloud VPS is cheaper.
  • Your site is a brochure or a blog. Pro or Business covers it.
  • You need a whole dedicated machine or more than 8 GB RAM in one container. Ask us for a custom quote instead.

Enterprise questions

Why does Enterprise cost more than the Business plans?

The extra cost is service, not just hardware. Enterprise adds continuous AI security monitoring (HostRob Sentinel, which uses Claude to triage findings), a human who reviews every alert, monthly security reports, migrations done for you, point-in-time database recovery and priority support. Those take engineer time and AI usage every month, for every Enterprise customer.

What does HostRob Sentinel check?

Every 15 minutes, for every Enterprise container: rootkit hooks in /etc/ld.so.preload, crypto-miner and reverse-shell processes, programs running from /tmp or /dev/shm, new listening ports, changes to SSH keys and cron jobs, executables dropped in temp folders, sustained CPU at the limit, and (every two hours) web-shell patterns in recently changed PHP files. It also counts failed SSH logins on the server.

Does Sentinel change or block anything?

No. Sentinel is read-only. It never stops, deletes or edits anything inside your container. New findings are explained by AI and sent to the HostRob engineer, who decides the response with you.

Is Enterprise a dedicated server?

No. Enterprise containers run on HostRob's shared Mumbai server with hard per-container limits (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM each, up to six containers). If you need a dedicated server, ask us for a custom quote.

What uptime does Enterprise get?

HostRob targets 99.9% monthly uptime on all plans. Planned maintenance is announced 48 hours ahead.
