HostRob FAQ

Straight answers about hosting, pricing, Enterprise and security.

Hosting

What is HostRob?

HostRob is a managed container hosting platform based in Mumbai, India, run by FutureFist Tech Solutions LLP (Thane). Each website or app runs in its own isolated Docker container with fixed CPU, RAM and process limits, behind automatic SSL, with nightly backups and an encrypted offsite copy. Plans are billed in rupees with GST invoices.

Where are HostRob's servers?

In a datacenter in Mumbai, India. Your files and databases stay in India, which keeps latency low for Indian visitors and helps with India data-residency requirements under the DPDP Act 2023.

What can I host on HostRob?

WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter and plain PHP), Node.js (Express, NestJS, Next.js), static sites, and apps that need MySQL 8, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

How is HostRob different from shared hosting?

On shared hosting many sites share one web server and one set of limits. On HostRob each app gets its own container with its own CPU, memory and process limits, its own SSH login and its own database, so one busy or compromised neighbour cannot take your site down or read your files.

How is HostRob different from a VPS?

A VPS gives you a bare server that you patch, secure and back up yourself. HostRob gives you a ready container and runs the platform for you: SSL, backups, offsite copies, isolation and monitoring are already in place. If you have your own DevOps engineer and only need raw compute, a plain VPS is cheaper.

Does HostRob give GST invoices?

Yes. Prices are listed before 18% GST; GST is added at checkout and every payment gets a GST invoice you can download from the panel. You can pay by UPI, cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), net banking or wallets through Razorpay.

Is there a refund?

Every new plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee. Email billing@hostrob.com within 14 days for a full refund.

Pricing and billing

Are prices inclusive of GST?

No. Listed prices exclude 18% GST, which is added at checkout and shown on every invoice.

How much do I save with annual billing?

Annual billing is 20% cheaper than paying monthly for 12 months. For example, Pro is ₹699 a month or ₹6,710 a year.

What happens if my app needs more than the plan allows?

Each container is hard-capped at its plan's CPU, memory and process limits, so you are never billed for overage. If your app keeps hitting the cap we tell you and suggest the next plan. Upgrades take effect without a restart.

Are the CPU and RAM numbers per container?

Yes. Every container on a plan gets the listed CPU and memory cap, and you can run up to the listed number of containers. CPU is shared fairly across the server, so the cap is a ceiling, not a reserved core.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, from the billing tab in the panel at any time.

What is the refund policy?

14-day money-back guarantee on every new plan. Annual plans can be refunded pro-rata within 30 days.

Enterprise and Sentinel

Is HostRob Enterprise worth ₹35,000 a month?

It is worth it if you run a business-critical app in India and do not have your own DevOps engineer. ₹35,000 buys up to six production containers (4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM cap each), an AI security scan of every container every 15 minutes, a monthly security report, nightly and offsite backups, PostgreSQL point-in-time recovery, free migration and priority support from the engineer who runs the platform. Hiring a DevOps engineer in India costs about ₹8.5 lakh a year on average (Glassdoor, 2026), roughly ₹71,000 a month, before servers and tools. If you already have an engineer and only need raw servers, a plain cloud VPS or HostRob's Business plans are cheaper.

Why does Enterprise cost more than the Business plans?

The extra cost is service, not just hardware. Enterprise adds continuous AI security monitoring (HostRob Sentinel, which uses Claude to triage findings), a human who reviews every alert, monthly security reports, migrations done for you, point-in-time database recovery and priority support. Those take engineer time and AI usage every month, for every Enterprise customer.

What does HostRob Sentinel check?

Every 15 minutes, for every Enterprise container: rootkit hooks in /etc/ld.so.preload, crypto-miner and reverse-shell processes, programs running from /tmp or /dev/shm, new listening ports, changes to SSH keys and cron jobs, executables dropped in temp folders, sustained CPU at the limit, and (every two hours) web-shell patterns in recently changed PHP files. It also counts failed SSH logins on the server.

Does Sentinel change or block anything?

No. Sentinel is read-only. It never stops, deletes or edits anything inside your container. New findings are explained by AI and sent to the HostRob engineer, who decides the response with you.

Is Enterprise a dedicated server?

No. Enterprise containers run on HostRob's shared Mumbai server with hard per-container limits (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM each, up to six containers). If you need a dedicated server, ask us for a custom quote.

What uptime does Enterprise get?

HostRob targets 99.9% monthly uptime on all plans. Planned maintenance is announced 48 hours ahead.
